I have written a lot about health previously because it comes first in life if you wish to thrive and prosper. Dentistry is not an exception to the fallacies of medicine. You need to take control of your dental health and not follow all the advice you get from your dentist. There are also many misunderstandings and misconceptions about dentistry in the public consciousness, which I want to clarify now. A poorly treated tooth or a bad daily habit can cost you your life, and it doesn’t matter if you only consume organic food or whether you work out four times a week.
Your worst daily habit.
I am sure that you have heard before, “Using fluoride toothpaste is necessary to prevent cavity.”
Law-abiding citizens follow the general guidelines and may not dare to try something new or crazy. They may be worried about getting a cavity or other issues in the mouth. To prevent all this trouble, they brush the teeth twice a day with fluoride toothpaste.
Sodium fluoride is an industrial byproduct, and poison does nothing (right) to your teeth or mouth. What is more, it is an enzyme inhibitor, impeding your body to function correctly. Fluoride causes cancer and other nasty diseases, ruins teeth and gums.
But what is even worse, it can make you simple-minded by accumulating in the brain.
Old habits die hard, but if you can think out of the box, you will understand why I haven’t brushed my teeth with fluoride in the past ten years. And no, I have not got any caries.
The dangers of fluoride:
- Increases lead absorption
- Disrupts synthesis of collagen
- Hyperactivity,lethargy
- Muscle disorders
- Brain damage and lowered IQ
- Arthritis
- Dementia
- Bone fractures
- Lowers thyroid function
- Bone cancer (osteosarcoma)
- Inactivates 62 enzymes
- Inhibits formation of antibodies
- Genetic damage and cell death
- Increases tumor and cancer rate
- Disrupts immune system
- Infertility

Why You Should Avoid Root Canals Like the Plague? (Article by Dr. Joseph Mercola)
All of these practices may cause a severe illness in the short or long term. There are natural remedies available for toothache, caries, and other tooth-related issues.
Soft food
While dentists recommend fluoridated hygiene products, tooth floss, tooth rinse, and yearly check-up, they do not recommend anything to chew. Yes, you got teeth for chewing hard food or real meat (not ground). Chewing is an essential body function activating 57 muscles around your jaw. Consuming only soft food leads to other health issues. When a child grows up mostly on a soft diet, the jaw does not grow wide enough to give the adult teeth space. Teeth misalignment is very common due to the undeveloped jaw of children. Orthodontists usually apply braces and extract teeth to provide space. You could prevent all this trouble too. The other consequence of teeth regulation and the undeveloped jaw is the deformation of the face. Mouth breathing and open mouth posture increase the problem. If you are an adult and do not chew regularly, you may see your face melting down with the years passing by. Dr. Mew’s orthodontist’s video “grow your face” is worth to watch.
My favorite method to keep my jaw and face in shape is chewing mastic gum, the mastic tree’s resin from Greece.
